Nihon shōkōgun
Paris syndrome (パリ症候群, Pari shōkōgun) is a transient psychological disorder encountered by some people during a stay in Paris. Analogous to the Stendhal syndrome, this condition is said to affect Japanese tourists in particular, who, distraught by the gap between reality and their idealized vision of the city, find themselves disillusioned and destabilized by the cultural gap between the real France and the image people have of it abroad, particularly in Japan
I experienced similar problems when I arrived in Japan at night, after a tiring and idealized trip. It was only much later that I re-interrogated the feelings of unease, oppression and suffocation I had experienced on discovering a foreign universe, steeped in tradition but cold, hyper codified, dystopian, "Blade Runner"-like (which fueled this series color scheme), far removed from the idyllic image I'd fantasized about before my departure.
